I’m surrounded by picturesque landscapes. The river, lakes and ponds throughout the St Croix Valley provide me with my favorite inspiration—REFLECTIONS of sky, clouds, and the shapes of branches and leaves, and most especially water lilies.

I love capturing places of inspiration in photographs, manipulating my images and then interpreting them in paint.
I’m an oil painter, but I begin with a warm underpainting in acrylics, that will ultimately create a glowing effect.
Working in an expressive-impressionist style, I use bold brush and palette knife strokes, and sometimes incorporate loose line work—but it’s the color that is key to conveying an emotional response.
