Steel Magnolias

Truvy’s beauty salon serves as a gathering place for an eclectic group of Southern women who come together for friendship, gossip, therapy, and celebrations. Most specifically, we watch as Shelby (the prettiest girl in town) prepares to marry and start a family while living with diabetes. She risks and eventually sacrifices her life in order to have a child and the women are forced to examine their own mortalities and draw upon the underlying strength present in all of us to move forward while being irrevocably changed.
