Mary’s journey began July 23rd, 2014, when she was diagnosed with stage two breast cancer. Ten days before Mary found out her diagnosis, she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Lilly. Mary’s world was drastically changed, not only was she mom to a newborn and toddler, a wife and a RN at a local nursing home. Mary underwent 6 chemo treatments, 5 weeks of radiation and had a double mastectomy, and continued with maintenance therapy. Mary went through all of this with fighting attitude and a beautiful outlook on life. If you have ever met Mary, she can make you laugh at the drop of the hat with her sass and has one of the biggest hearts you’ll ever see.
On January 17th, 2017, Mary’s world was thrown for another loop. Mary went in for a follow up scan and came out with a new diagnosis. Mary’s scan showed that she has metastasis in her spine and pelvis, stage 4. To fight this cancer she will be doing additional chemo therapy. With this stage 4 diagnosis this will bring on a very long journey for Mary. She has started her treatment February 9th.
With Mary’s new cancer diagnosis life doesn’t stop for her, she is currently is a nurse manager, a friend, a mother two; Lilly (2 years old) and Austin (7 years old), and a wife to her husband Kevin. Mary is a White Bear Lake resident.
