Yellowstone Trail Heritage Day is an annual event that celebrates the historic Yellowstone Trail which was the first coast-to-coast automobile route across the Northern United States. Join us on August 12, 2023 for these great activities: 3 car shows (the classic and vintage car show, the Britfest and the Model A Ford & Model T Ford car show), geocaching, history speaker, museum tours, history displays, plus a Yellowstone Trail Sociability Drive and Poker Run thru St. Croix County.

Hudson, WI and St. Croix County are the first stops when entering into Wisconsin from the west. Yellowstone Trail Heritage Day promotes the historic national automobile trail that passed through St. Croix County in the early 1910s. Much like Route 66, the Yellowstone Trail carried travelers from one end of the country to another (Plymouth Rock to Puget Sound) before the advent of freeways. Begun in 1912, this trail featured one special stop at Yellowstone National Park. Hudson shared an important role in this unique road’s history as it passed across the Toll Bridge and the old Dike Road ,climbed up Walnut and Vine Streets to County Road UU and Hwy 12, leading to Roberts, Hammond, Baldwin, Woodville and beyond.
