Home for Life is an animal sanctuary dedicated to providing life-long homes and care to animals with disabilities. Their annual fundraising event is held on July 18. Motorcyclists kick off the event with an organized ride through the St. Croix valley. The family friendly open house is an opportunity for visitors of all ages to meet face-to-furry-face the sanctuary’s many dogs and cats. Attendees will learn how the amazing animal residents “give back” to the community through a variety of outreach programs.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to learn about Home for Life’s “Third Door” policy. Animals with disabilities, illnesses or behavioral problems are far less likely to be adopted. In most facilities, animals that are not adopted face early euthanasia. Home for Life’s “Third Door” offers an opportunity beyond adoption and euthanasia: the care-for-life facility, where animals can still lead full, happy lives, and even “give back” to the community.
