Talented artist Tom Peter brings to life the process of creating gallery-grade art from freshly fallen or pruned trees. Meet Tom in person and learn how he uses his talents to visualize and unveil the beautiful, yet often hidden, features and “magic” within trees! Free Program on Sunday, May 31 from 2 pm to 3 pm. This special art exhibit is on view Mondays through Saturdays from 9 am to 5 pm and Sundays from 12 pm to 5 pm at the Great River Road Visitor and Learning Center at Freedom Park.
Tom’s Artist Statement: I’ve been in the Tree Care Industry for 11 years and Turning Natural Edge Vessels for 6 years. My passion is connecting people with their “Sentimentally Significant” trees by creating “timeless treasures of art” from their trees. As an active participant in the American Association of Woodturners and a leader in the Minnesota Woodturners Association, I demonstrate and teach the art of Natural Edge Vessel Turning. As a consulting Arborist, I assist homeowners in understanding the needs of their trees and directing them to appropriate care as needed.
