The Stillwater Public Library Gallery hosts an exhibit of local artist Sharon Weiser’s paintings in May and June. Variety is the Spice of Art features over 25 paintings, including a series of animal portraits and still lifes.

About the Artists

A native of Wisconsin, Sharon Wiser received her BFA and K-12 teaching certificate from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire in 1977. Before moving to Phoenix in 1992, she taught 2 years in the Art and Design Department at the University of Wisconsin – Stout. For the past 30 years she has conducted classes and workshops in Wisconsin, Arizona, and New Mexico.

Sharon’s diligent attention to detail, bold use of color, versatility of subject and mature sense of design, have won her many awards, including those from the American Artist and The Artist’s magazines.

In 2011 she moved back to the Midwest and opened her studio in Stillwater, MN. Sharon is a juried member of the Arizona Art Alliance, Sonoran Arts League, and the Scottsdale Artists League.
