In our 25th Anniversary holiday season, join us for one of the world’s most loved Christmas stories. Adapted countless times to film, stage, opera and other media, A Christmas Carol has been shared throughout generations since the early 1840’s when Charles Dickens first dreamed up the haunting holiday tale.
A writer with a colorful financial history, Dickens often wrote about the hardships of the poor, valuing charity, generosity, and kindness toward the less fortunate. And while A Christmas Carol certainly brings to mind images of love, joy, warmth and redemption, it does so not in spite of, but through strong and unforgettable images of darkness, coldness, sadness and death.
One of the greatest influences in rejuvenating the old Christmas traditions of England, A Christmas Carol continues to uphold and invigorate the season’s spirit all over the world. Join the humbug Ebenezer Scrooge as he faces his own cold, pinched heart, and, with the aid of three visiting spirits, is thawed from his wintery solitude. The perfect holiday mix of family, love, gratefulness and redemption, Festival’s adaptation will showcase the beautiful language, the inspiring imagery, and the loving missive of A Christmas Carol.
