Join the St. Croix River Association on October 17th for our annual Fall Gathering. This year, we’ll convene at the Marine Village Hall in Marine on St. Croix for An Evening with Dr. Kurt Fausch to talk about the value of rivers for fish, plant and animal life, and humans.
We’ll also take this opportunity to thank our dedicated volunteers, and announce the winner of the Centennial Paddle Challenge.
Kurt Fausch is a professor in the Department of Fish, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology at Colorado State University, where he has taught for 35 years. His research collaborations in stream fish ecology and conservation have taken him throughout Colorado and the West, and worldwide, including to Hokkaido in northern Japan. His experiences were chronicled in the PBS documentary RiverWebs, and the recent book For the Love of Rivers: A Scientist’s Journey. He has received lifetime achievement awards from the American Fisheries Society, the World Council of Fisheries Societies, and his two alma maters, and served as the acting director of the Graduate Degree Program in Ecology at Colorado State University.
This event is co-hosted by Northland College and the St. Croix River Association.
