Chronicling Covid: Purpose and Poetry

Chronicling Covid: Purpose and Poetry

Presented by River Falls Public Library at Online/Virtual Space

Join us for this FREE 4-part virtual workshop series. We will be using GoToMeeting. You will be able to interact with the presenter and create your own work. All experience levels welcome.

Many people today think of poetry as a means of self-expression. Others find writing or reading poetry to be cathartic or therapeutic. While these things are certainly true, we often forget that poetry remains the most enduring form of storytelling, and the truths that poetry explores form a complex historical record of the times in which they were written.

During this workshop, you will bear witness to the ongoing Covid quarantine. By examining your truths—of humor, of anxiety, of lament, and loss—you will be encouraged to create poems that will help you process your experience, while creating something that will contribute to the historical record of our time.
