CONCERT: StellaRoma Live at the HAC

CONCERT: StellaRoma Live at the HAC

Presented by Blessings Academy of Arts and Music at Hastings Arts Center

Three uniquely talented musicians join to combine ancient and future, East and West, into a stirring mix of “progressive world music” with futuristic flavors.
Greg Herriges plays (and sings into) his guitar and Greek bouzouki with a unique approach honed by his studies of Asian and other international styles. Michael Bissonnette juggles an array of global percussion including cajon, frame drums, glockenspiel, and Aztec death whistle. David Stenshoel adds a wealth of melodic flavors on violin, mandolin and gaida (Bulgarian bagpipe).
The music ranges from ancient Mediterranean folk to Western pop, surf-jazz, and high-energy all-of-the-above originals. You’ll hear unusual renditions of familiar tunes, and be treated to some of the most compelling new sounds.
