Stillwater NAPAC Family Presentation Featuring Julian Kitto

Stillwater NAPAC Family Presentation Featuring Julian Kitto

Presented by Stillwater Native American Parent Advisory Committee at Stillwater Public Library

Stillwater Native American Parent Advisory Committee Family Event featuring:  Julian Kitto; Drummer, Singer and Dancer, Fond-du-Lac Reservation

Julian Kitto’s tribal affiliation is Flandreau Santee Sioux and Red Lake Ojibwe. He has lived on Fond-du-Lac reservation for twenty years.  Julian will share teachings with us that have been alive for thousands of years. He takes care of a drum his uncle gave to him several years ago, which holds tremendous cultural and historical significance. Julian knows many songs, the teaching or story behind them and the appropriate time to use them, such as ceremonies, funerals, graduations, or powwows.  To Julian, this is not just something to do–it is his way of life.

Stillwater NAPAC’s monthly Family Presentations are FREE and open to anyone who is interested in learning more about Native American history and culture. Please bring your family each month and plan to stay for the entire presentation (the fun stuff is at the end)!
