Under the Harvest Moon: The Art of Suspense and the Beginning of a Literary Center

Presented by StoryArk at Stillwater Public Library

Spooky story writing begins here. The Shire Literary Center for Youth kicks off at 2:00 in the afternoon on Sunday, October 25th at the Stillwater Public Library by offering a writing workshop for middle school and high school creative writers followed by a light supper. Afterwards, an open house for The Shire at ArtReach St. Croix provides creative writing activities and a chance to learn more about the literary center. The workshop, titled “From Brothers Grimm to Gothic Horror – How Scary Stories Use Suspense to Thrill and Captivate Us,” will examine the different types of scary stories, consider how they build suspense, and give writers tips about how to write their own scary stories.
