Please join us to address the isolation and fear associated with dementia through a unique experience using theater and conversation.
Allina Health, The Lutheran Home Campus and The Onion Grille in partnership with The St. Croix Valley Foundation will launch The Remember Project in Hastings and Prescott this fall.
The Remember Project is a pilot program intended to stimulate a community conversation around dementia and the most well-known form of memory loss, Alzheimer’s disease. The project takes a unique approach to building awareness, sharing information, and inviting authentic community conversations. Hastings and Prescott will host three special performance events – each starting with a different short play performed by a professional, traveling cast. Audience members will watch the play and participate in a facilitated conversation. The idea stems from a book of three one-act plays titled The MemoryCare Plays (compiled and edited by Dr. Margaret A. Noel) and from the recognition that the arts are a powerful tool for inviting deep and meaningful conversation.
Tuesday, October 27: Play 1 “Steering into the Skid”
Play 2 “Riding the Waves” and Play 3 “In the Garden” will be performed at The Onion Grille (100 Sibley Street, Hastings, MN) on Tuesday, November 3 and Thursday, November 5 respectively. More information
The performance is free of charge.
