I have been a pastor for the majority of my adult life. Even as a pastor I struggled with traditional forms of prayer because I always felt so distracted. When I took a leave from full time ministry. I started experimenting with different forms of prayer, different ways of connecting with the Spirit. That is when I began painting. The practice allows me to quiet my mind, block out distractions and just be in the presence, listen for the still small voice. My art is a visual expression of my conversations with the Spirit.
