The National Council of Catholic Women was founded in 1920 and was formed after a meeting of Catholic women was convened by the U.S. bishops who had witnessed the important work done by Catholic women’s organizations during World War I. The CCW at St. Michael’s began in the 1950s and presently has over 200 members. It is divided into separate rosary bands (or small groups), which meet at their convenience.
