WCHS Treasurer Tom Simonet gives a talk about Stillwater’s most infamous lady of the night, Red Nelle. Back when the lumber industry was at its peak, Nellie “Red Nelle” Mandeville became a businesswoman of sorts, hiring other area women to entertain the lumberjacks. Over a 12 month period, from August 1882 through July 1883, Nelle was arrested ten times! Come learn about her entertaining life at this program.
