Noises Off

This classic farce by Tony Award-winning playwright Michael Frayn delights with three acts of side-splitting humor. At the start of the show, audiences witness the final late night rehearsal of a somewhat doomed touring production of a (fictitious) farce entitled “Nothing On.” It’s clear by the end of the first act that while the actors certainly know how to play the drama on-stage, it’s the drama off-stage that causes infinitely difficult, and entirely hilarious, circumstances to work around.

Audiences will roar and marvel at the feat of Noises Off. Nine incredibly skilled and focused actors are required to execute this fast-paced story of six actors, one stage manager, one stage hand, and one very tense director. Execution of these quirky characters, each complete with charming foibles and dramatic personal affairs, will be memorable. And equally as impressive will be the work from design to direction, which is certain to rival, celebrate and honor 25 years of theatre-making in St. Croix Falls.

Come ready to laugh and poke fun at the stress of producing and performing live theatre, all while marveling at the ensemble’s ability to keep all the hilarious balls in the air. With some mild adult themes, this show might not be appropriate for young audience members, but we’re sure all ages will enjoy the slap-stick wit and fun that is Noises Off.
