Nine Lessons and Carols

All are welcome at The Episcopal Church of the Ascension, 214 N. Third Street, for the 33rd annual Service of Nine Lessons and Carols on Sunday, December 4, 2016 beginning with a prelude at 5:00 p.m. Renowned musicians organist Kathrine Handford and trumpeter Robert Dorer headline this exceptional worship festival accompanied by the choirs of Ascension. Ms. Handford is a University Organist and Lecturer in Music at Lawrence University’s Conservatory of Music in Appleton, Wisconsin. Mr. Dorer is second trumpet with the Minnesota Orchestra. Arrive early for the best seating. A free-will offering will be taken. Child care provided.

Built in 1888, the historic church building features soaring Victorian Gothic arches, a Dobson Opus 30 organ, and authentic Tiffany stained glass windows.
