MCBA on The Road: Letterpress: Print on a Table-Top Platen Press with Jason Yoh

Minnesota Center for Book Arts (MCBA) provides visitors of all ages with opportunities for learning, creativity and self-expression. MCBA On the Road extends our educational reach throughout the seven-county Metro area and across greater Minnesota through partnerships with regional art centers, offering hands-on workshops and free open house events that introduce the book arts to new audiences in their home communities.

Get acquainted with the platen press and the tools and techniques for letterpress printing. Experience traditional hand-set type and try your own design with contemporary printing methods such as printing from a digitally-created polymer plate and a flexi-plate cut by hand. Take home a handful of postcard-sized prints.

This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
