Jazz Dance and The Art of Storytelling

Calling all movers, dancers and storytellers! Did you ever wonder what a jazz hand can actually mean? Or, the way we can use our bodies to express words? This workshop will interconnect some of the basic fundamental principals of jazz dance to: 1) the process of determining a characters emotions and intentions; and, 2) the art of creating a story through movement. Come prepared to move! Writing materials and utensil along with loose fitting clothes and socks or dance shoes requested. This class will take place in the dance studio of Belle Ballet, 402 Main Street N, Stillwater. $35.

Regina Peluso, Artistic Director of COLLIDE Theatrical Dance Company, has worked in Boston, New York and Los Angeles and studied under Broadway’s most notable choreographers and dance instructors. Regina holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The Boston Conservatory where she studied musical theater and dance and holds a performing arts certificate from The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts.
