Is That Everything? Transformations in Mosaic and Assemblage

The transformation of found objects into artwork tells new stories, creates new realities or fashions new visions. Mosaic and Assemblage will fill the galleries of ArtReach St. Croix during “Is That Everything?”  Three St. Croix Valley artists—Gil Gragert, Glen Riddle and Judy Sell—will be featured in the exhibition on display May 14 through June 27.

“When some people see things, they see beyond the objects themselves into the many possibilities of how they may be transformed, altered or repurposed. That would be us,” says Gragert.

Each artist is a collector of objects – tiny, unique, meaningful – that become part of a larger story through mosaic and assemblage.  Gragert, Riddle and Sell use traditional art principles and self-taught techniques to create the pieces inspired by common American culture and everyday life.
